China Packaging Federation Holds the 8th National Congress Press Conference in Beijing

 【China Packaging Network News】 On December 19, 2014, the China Packaging Federation held the press conference for the 8th National Congress of the China Packaging Federation in Beijing. Wang Yuezhong, Assistant President of the China Packaging Federation, Wang Li, Executive Deputy Secretary-General, and Ao Wennan, Deputy Secretary-General, attended the meeting. They discussed the preparation of the 8th National Congress and its main content, the development of China's packaging industry in the past decade, as well as the working ideas of the new leadership team. Twenty mainstream media outlets participated in the press conference, which was presided over by Liu Guojing, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Packaging Federation.
                                                   
  The China Packaging Federation (formerly the China Packaging Technology Association) is the first industry association established in the industrial field after China's implementation of reform and opening-up policies. Since its establishment in the early 1980s, it has gone through seven council sessions. According to the regulations of the China Packaging Federation and approved by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the 8th National Congress of the China Packaging Federation was scheduled to be held on December 25, 2014, at the Beijing National Convention Center. At the congress, the 8th Council of the China Packaging Federation would be elected. Concurrently, the first session of the 8th Council would be convened, and the Executive Council, Secretary-General, Deputy Presidents, and President of the 8th Council would be elected. With the approval of the central government and the Party Committee of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, Comrade Xu Bin was nominated as the candidate for the President of the 8th Council of the China Packaging Federation.


This congress was an important industry conference held during a critical period when China faced a complex economic and social environment both internationally and domestically, as well as comprehensive deepening reforms. It marked a significant milestone.


The main tasks of the congress were to further mobilize the packaging industry nationwide to earnestly study, thoroughly understand, and resolutely implement the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Third and Fourth Plenary Sessions of the 18th Central Committee, and the Central Economic Work Conference. The congress aimed to hold high the banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, consistently adhere to the guidance of Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, the important thought of the Three Represents, and the Scientific Outlook on Development. It emphasized the importance of earnestly studying and implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches, seizing the strategic opportunities for continued development, unifying thoughts, rallying collective strength, promoting comprehensive development and progress of the industry, and striving to achieve China's "Two Centenary Goals" and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, the "Chinese Dream."


In accordance with the spirit of the Central Eight-point Regulations, this congress adhered to a concise and brisk theme. The overall process was divided into two parts: the morning session consisted of the plenary session of the 8th National Congress of the China Packaging Federation. The main agenda included a work report by President Shi Wanpeng on behalf of the 7th Council of the China Packaging Federation, the election of the 8th Council of the China Packaging Federation, and the deliberation of amendments to the "Constitution." In the afternoon session, the first session of the 8th Council of the China Packaging Federation was convened, and the main agenda included the election of the Executive Council, President, Vice Presidents, and Secretary-General of the new leadership team, as well as a speech by the newly appointed President.


Currently, with the joint efforts of the organizing committee and the strong support from all walks of society, the preparatory work for the congress is progressing in an orderly manner. Efforts are being made to ensure that the congress will be held as scheduled and achieve the expected results.
